2008 Private Housing Information

Private Housing in the homes of tournament volunteers is a privilege extended by The Nationals Tournament Committee and is subject to the terms set forth in a Housing Contract

Private Housing is offered beginning on the day of Tournament Registration, Saturday, August 2nd, and ends the morning following the day of elimination from the tournament.

Tournament Contract.  Housing is requested by completing and returning the Housing Contract by mail to Lynn Crosby so that it is received no later than July 22, 2008.  Mailing instructions are on the bottom of the Housing Contract.  Any request for Housing received after July 22nd is not guaranteed and will be provided only if additional space is available.  Housing will be provided for players only.

Housing will be provided beginning on the day of Tournament Registration, Saturday, August 2nd, and will terminate the morning following the day of elimination from the tournament.  Requests for specific housing or roommates will be honored, if possible.  All placements by the Housing Chair will be final.  Housing in private homes will consist of sleeping quarters, breakfast and dinner, and transportation to the Berkeley Tennis Club and home each day.  Players must follow the Housing Rules in the Housing Contract.  If the Housing Rules are broken, the Tournament Directors will terminate the housing and will report the player to the Sectional office and the USTA and, if appropriate, enforce the applicable sections of the USTA's Suspension Point System.

Any special requests for housing to begin prior to August 2nd or extend beyond the morning following the day of elimination from the tournament must receive prior approval of the Housing Chair and Tournament Committee.

Click here to download a PDF version of the Housing Contract.  Please read the Housing Contract thoroughly so that you understand the rules and terms of Housing. It must be signed by both the player and their parent or guardian.

Housing Fee.  You will be asked to send TWO checks with your Housing Contract to secure your Housing request, each in the amount of $30.00 and made payable to National Tennis Championships.  One $30.00 check represents a Housing Fee.  The other $30.00 check represents a Deposit that will be refunded upon confirmation from the Housing family that all of the rules in the Housing Contract have been followed.  Players who cancel their Housing Request after July 27th will not be refunded any portion of the $60.00.  Players who are not accepted into the tournament will be refunded the entire $60.00

Housing Meeting.  At 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 2nd, all players who will be staying in private homes during the tournament week are required to attend the mandatory Housing Meeting.  Players should meet in the Headquarters’ Room at 4:30 pm for the meeting.   The purpose of the meeting is to meet the Housing Chair, review the housing rules, and introduce players to their housing families.

Transportation to and from Oakland International Airport: On August 2nd, the day of your arrival, we are only able pick up and transport players to the Berkeley Tennis Club that fly into Oakland International Airport. Likewise, we are only able to transport players back to Oakland International Airport on the day of their departure.
